How Much Does Garage Door Repair Cost in Nevada? (2025 Price Guide)
The most common question we get before scheduling a repair is: "How much is this going to cost?" It's a fair question. The garage door industry has a reputation for vague pricing, and too many companies won't give you a number until a technician is standing in your garage.
Here are real price ranges for every common garage door repair in Las Vegas, Henderson, and Reno/Sparks.
Most Common Repairs and What They Cost
Broken Spring Replacement — $150–$280
Torsion spring replacement is the most common garage door repair we perform. The price varies based on whether one or both springs need replacing (we always recommend replacing both at the same time — they wear at the same rate) and the size/weight rating of the spring.
Single torsion spring: $150–$195
Double torsion spring (most homes): $210–$280
Extension springs (older door style): $120–$180 per pair
Do not attempt this yourself. Torsion springs are under hundreds of pounds of torque. Improper handling causes serious injury every year.
Opener Repair — $100–$200
Opener issues range from a burned-out logic board to a stripped gear to a sensor misalignment. A technician can usually diagnose the problem in 10–15 minutes.
Sensor realignment (often free with service call): $0–$60
Gear and sprocket replacement: $100–$150
Logic board replacement: $120–$200
If the opener is more than 10 years old and the repair cost approaches $150, we'll often recommend a new opener instead — you get a warranty, better features, and peace of mind.
New Opener Installation — $280–$500
This includes the unit, all hardware, programming remotes, and setup.
Belt-drive (quiet, recommended for attached garages): $320–$450
Chain-drive (louder but reliable): $280–$380
Smart opener with app control: $350–$500
Cable Replacement — $120–$180
Cables work alongside springs to lift the door. When one snaps, the door drops on one side and becomes unsafe to use. Cable replacement is a one-hour job in most cases.
Off-Track Repair — $100–$180
A door that has jumped its track needs to be carefully guided back and the cause of the derailment identified (bent track, broken roller, obstruction). Most off-track repairs are completed same-day.
Panel Replacement — $200–$600+
Panel cost varies significantly based on door brand, style, and age. If the door is more than 15 years old, matching panels may not be available and full replacement becomes the practical option.
Service Call / Diagnostic Fee
Most reputable companies charge a diagnostic fee to offset the cost of sending a technician out. At Toni's, our fee is applied to the cost of any repair we complete. If we can't fix your door, you don't pay.
What Affects the Final Price
1. Parts quality. There's a difference between commercial-grade springs (20,000-cycle rated) and the cheap residential springs some companies install (7,000–10,000 cycles). Ask what you're getting.
2. Number of components. Sometimes what looks like a spring problem turns out to also involve worn cables and damaged rollers. A good technician will diagnose everything and quote the full job upfront.
3. Emergency or after-hours service. After-hours and weekend calls may carry a premium. We try to keep this reasonable — typically $50–$80 above standard rates for true emergencies.
4. Door size. Double-car garage doors require larger springs and more hardware than single-car doors.
Red Flags to Watch For
- A company that won't give you a price range over the phone
- A suspiciously low "service call fee" ($29–$49) combined with inflated part prices
- Being told you need a full opener replacement when only a sensor or gear needs fixing
- No written quote before work begins
